Our Story

Edgewater Hilltop Golf Course offers a little piece of heaven on the Lautrup property where owners George and Jeanette have lived since their marriage in 1964. George's parents, Valdemar and Dagny, emigrated from Denmark and bought the land back in 1935. Their boys helped with the cows, chickens and haying.

The family photos in the Club House are a favourite with golfers, ask why Hole #5 is so green! The bathrooms are not only very clean but offer a selection of needlework for your viewing pleasure.

George and Jeanette raised 4 children in the same family home. Even with four children, Jeanette played golf regularly. Grandma babysat and Jeanette slipped out during naptimes for her Ladies League in Radium.

It was George's idea to transform the farm to a golf course, the last hay crop was taken off the farm in 1990. The fields were mowed for two years to allow the grass to matt and to set a good base. Construction started in 1992 and the first round was played in 1994.
